The Sun fell perpendicularly on the face of the Statue of King Ramses II in Abu Simbel Temple in Aswan on Saturday, 22nd February 2014. The unique astronomical phenomenon, which occurs twice a year, started at about 6:23 am and lasted for 20 minutes.
