Well, people are afraid of travel in these times of Coronavirus, but then there are many incentives to show some courage to travel (with proper precautions ofcourse), even in these tough times. A vibrant nightlife at European capital Brussels is one among them. There can’t be a better time than spring to visit this beautiful city.
In spring, clubs and organisers of evening events offer a wide range of activities of all kinds to the delight of night owls. Clubbers will be spoilt for choice, with the Listen! Festival, the Hangar evenings, Fuse and more. The cosmopolitan city of Brussels offers an impressive variety of night-time events for those going out. Fans of hip-hop, tech house and dance will find it impossible not to find an event they like. Today more than ever, many clubbers take a trip into the European capital for the evening to see the latest DJ or dance into the small hours in one of its many nightclubs.
In spring, festivals and soirées with tantalising line-ups make a return. The many Brussels night-life venues, which are increasingly specialised and innovative in their approach and line-ups, are taking action to surprise the thousands of clubbers who flock to their soirées. With Listen! and FFORMATT, not forgetting the Hangar evenings, every event is an opportunity to get together and discover a new venue, new artists or a new concept.

Listen! returns from Wednesday 25 March to Sunday 29 March 2020 at various locations throughout Brussels. For this fifth edition, Listen! has chosen the slogan “United in Music and Diversity”. The festival will bring together various local and alternative music scenes, the symbols of the capital’s unique diversity. Listen! combines all musical worlds, from hip-hop to house and from electronic to world music. The festival includes labels and collectives, regardless of their musical style and direction. Line-up includes Terrence Dixon, Gilles Peterson, The Alchemist, Dengue Dengue Dengue, Jane Fitz, Carista and many others.
The Gay Haze and Spek events are also joining forces for Listen! in a 16 hour rave from sunrise to sunset on Sunday. The programme includes a tantalising line-up and some wonderful encounters. It is going to happen on 29 March 2020 at Quay 01.
(Update, 12th March 2020: In light of the recent developments and following the measures taken by the national public health authorities, Listen! Festival 2020 has been postponed. Listen! will now take place from 10 to 15 November 2020.)
26 Years of Fuse. 26 years of love
One of Belgium’s longest-running electronic music institutions, Fuse, has been around for more than a quarter of a century. On April 3 and 4, they’re celebrating their 26th anniversary with a birthday weekender in the club. Friday is all about dreamy, atmospheric sounds, while Saturday will be a night full of hard-hitting techno. Electronic music to suit all tastes. Their line-up includes Kiasmos (DJ), Janus Rasmussen (live), Alex Niggemann, Oulad Omar, Selección Natural (Oscar Mulero, Exium & Reeko), FJAAK (live), Parallel Circuit, Pattrn, François X, Border One, lunar convoy.

Rave Rebels
After the success of the first event last year, the new event by the Kompass Klub returns to Palais 12 in Brussels on Saturday 11 April 2020, decked out for a rave that will last at least 14 hours, with unprecedented production levels and an incredible line-up. Rave Rebels redefines the term “rave”: this is no longer just an illegal festival in an isolated venue under a bridge, but a major electronic music event, a venue where clubbers can escape from reality with a group of rebels who share the same desire to take full advantage of this exceptional night. Line-up includes Boris Brejcha, Enrico Sangiuliano, Kevin de Vries, Mathew Jonson LIVE, Reinier Zonneveld LIVE, Sven Väth, Tale Of Us, Maxim Lany B2B Nico Morano.
In addition to an incredibly powerful line up, Rave Rebels also stands for a breathtaking sound, light and visual experience. The 14-hour spectacle will be embellished with an impressive production you have never ever witnessed before. The combination of the line up, the astonishing production ànd the energy of thousands of enthusiastic ravers all together, has proven that Rave Rebels is by far the most unique rave experience in Belgium to date. More than 10,000 ravers from far and wide are heading over to the Belgian capital for the extended rave. In addition to the entire region of Europe, tickets have been sold in more than 25 countries such as Japan, Russia, The United States and even New Zealand. Safe to say that Rave Rebels is about uniting people from all over the world!
La Demence – Happy Easter
La Demence is undoubtedly one of the best gay festivals in Europe. It takes place 12 times a year, generally on Friday evenings or the night before public holidays, and attracts gays from all over Europe and beyond. All languages are spoken and there is no dress code: bears, muscle queens, fetish, latex leather, fashion victims, bodybuilders or otherwise, young and not so young. The evening is usually hosted at Fuse, which is one of the best clubs in Belgium. Build up your strength, as the festival starts at 10pm and ends around midday the next day!
Line-up: Andrei Stan (RO), Chris Bekker (DE), Dikky Vendetta (NL), Elias (ES), Pagano (UK), John Dixon (FR), etc. This time it would be on Sunday 12th April (night before a public holiday).

Bénédiction / Rituels Exceptionnels
Benediction / Rituels Exceptionnels – a haven of inclusive nightlife – offers its diverse audience an evening combining clubbing and performance, with artists from a variety of backgrounds (ballroom, cabaret, etc.). For its spring edition, Juriji der Klee and his Benedictines invite you and Tiga – for the release of his new album – on 24 April at 23:00 to a C12 that has been transformed into a garden of delights.

FFORMATT – Story Night – C’est Qui
FFORMATT will present a holistic approach to musical selection on 25th April, telling the story of an artist. Immersion into the world of the Korean DJ pair “C’est Qui” from beginning to end. The previous artists were Pender Street Steppers, Optimo Music and Acting Press with PLO Man & Hashman Deejay & C3D-E.
Hangar
Hangar, the indoor electronic music festival launched by three young Brussels residents, will end its second season in a new industrial venue in Brussels on Thursday 30 April. After seven events in former industrial sites and collaborations with the KANAL-Centre Pompidou, Cercle, WECANDANCE and Extrema Outdoor, Hangar is continuing to put techno back on the map in Brussels and open up the genre to make it attractive to a broad section of the public. Not just thanks to the quality and variety of the line-up, but also thanks to the visitor experience. MUSIC-COMFORT-FOOD – these are the three fundamental values around which the event is based.
C12 x Ostgut Ton • 15 Years
The only Belgian date for Ostgut Ton’s Fünfzehn Anniversary tour. The famous label affiliated to Berghain/Panorama Bar is celebrating 15 years of existence. It is currently considered one of the best House & Techno labels, with more than 200 releases to its name since it launched. The line-up for 31st May event at C12 is a secret, but surely there will be seven artists from the Ostgut Ton label in the two rooms.
