Hi mate! Shall I join you for the meal?

Upendra SwamiOctober 16, 2016 1747 Views4

Watch these two for minutes and you will feel how close these two creatures are to each other. The heron closely follows each step of the Blackbuck. But then, follow more closely and you will notice that heron walks so close to deer because when the blackbuck is walking while grazing it is disturbing the insects resting in the grass, which are forced to fly and then they become easy prey for the herons. Romancing the wildlife at GIR

Upendra SwamiDecember 12, 2015 1723 Views1

So for all those, who return with their heads down after missing on the big cat, here are few 'non-cat' moments from a recent safari in the GIR national park and wildlife sanctuary in Gujarat. Known as only haven for Asiatic Lions in the wild in world, this dry deciduous forest has a fair share of other wildlife- 39 species of mammals, 37 species of reptiles, 300 spe...

In the shadow of a Great King

Upendra SwamiOctober 5, 2015 1035 Views1

Sikandara in Agra is home to one of the greatest kings ever to rule this country- Jalaluddin Muhammad Akbar. He was buried here and his tomb is among one of the greatest structures of the era (See: Here lies a great king). One may say that this tomb misses the grandeur of the another tomb Agra is famous for- The Taj, but Sikandara is what Akbar always wished for- peace and tranquility. What lies the another beauty here is that as soon as you turn your back towards the main mausoleum, you will immediately move to another world. With so many deer galloping around you will feel as if you are in a black-buck sanctuary, so oblivious they are to the tourists coming there, in a testimony to the great man, who rests here. Its an altogether different experience, which makes you to spend more and
