Upendra SwamiAugust 12, 2016 2645 Views13

We said some time back that it would be Japanese Kacho-Fugetsu & Koi at Brussels Flower Carpet this year. So the time has finally come and its Japan all over the Brussels Grand Place, and with beautiful flowers. This year's Flower carpet is now open for the visitors today. The Brussels Flower Carpet is one of the most amazing flower shows in the world and also one of the most awaited ones. Hence here it comes. A  look at the this years's carpet- After two years of preparation, the 20th Flower Carpet is finally on show in the Grand Place at Brussels for visitors to admire over the next three days. A vagabond night stroll in Tokyo

Upendra SwamiJuly 13, 2016 1615 Views5

Tokyo is one of those cities that gives you a real big city feeling, not just big but huge, just like Chicago or Shanghai. That has to be for the world's most populated city perhaps. Its altogether different feeling. And you need days or weeks to claim that you have seen the whole city. For that matter, any night stroll has to be essentially close to the place of stay, as was Nishi Shinjuku for me. It is always fascinating to watch a city skyline in night from a high-rise, so overwhelming- Well for a city like Tokyo, life doesn't stops at night, it seems like usual- on the roads- Umbrellas are really handy in Tokyo and actually everyone (all locals) carries a one. For the first time I saw almost all stores having umbrella stands at the entrance or a machine to cover yo...

Music for the love of life!

Upendra SwamiJanuary 30, 2016 991 Views0

Music is life. Whichever part of the world you go, in every place and in every culture, music has a tradition. It has always been fascinating to witness the different styles and languages of the music. Some of the images of music as captured my roving camera! Music brings courage to face the world! (In streets of Antwerp) Music for the 'God' (At a church in Antwerp) Music for harmony! (at a park in Brussels!) Music inspires rhythm! (at a launch festival in Delhi) Music illuminates! (at a launch festival in Delhi) Music brings confidence to perform! (At a hotel in Singapore) Music brings out a symphony! (At a hotel in Singapore) Music gives the ability to charm! (At a hotel in Singapore) Music relives the tradition! (At a hotel in S...

This year it would be Japan on the Flower Carpet

Upendra SwamiJanuary 16, 2016 1742 Views8

Every two years, in the month of August, the Grand-Place at Belgian Capital Brussels is adorned with its most beautiful attire and becomes a gigantic ocean of flowers. This year will be even more special, as the famous carpet of flowers will be celebrating its 20th anniversary! In 2016, Belgium and Japan will be celebrating 150 years of diplomatic and friendly relations. It is therefore perfectly natural that the organisers have chosen to let the colours of Japan inspire the design of the carpet. The general public will be invited to come and admire this Japanese creation on 13, 14 and 15 August 2016, from 10 am to 10 pm, on the Brussels Grand-Place. The traditional inaugural evening will be held on 12 August at 10 pm. The Flower Carpet is 75 m long by 24 m wide. 1,800 m2 of beg...
