
Ritz-Carlton suite at Ritz-Carlton Bangalore is among the top 101 suites in the world for this year, selected by Elite Traveler magazine. Dripping with intricate Indian touches, this lavish accommodation is done in a rich palette of crimson and gold with contemporary artwork, laser-cut sliding doors over floor-to-ceiling windows, and a chandelier with hanging crystal globes crowning the dining table. The suite also boasts a library, private bar, and theater room.

Elite Traveler, the New York based private jet lifestyle magazine, has released its 13thAnnual Top 101 Suites of the World, highlighting the world’s most decadent innovations in the world of luxury hotels. The most expensive suite – InterContinental Geneva – will set you back $56,000 for one night. However, it is dwarfed by the largest suite on the list, Saffron House at the K Club in Kildare, Ireland, at a mere $16,000 a night.

Highlights include London’s EWOW Suite at the W Hotel in Leicester Square, boasting a rotating dance floor and DJ booth set beneath a disco ball sculpture at $4,725 a night. A 20 foot diamond waterfall chandelier features at The Jewel Suite by Martin Katz at the New York Palace. Guests will also find a diamond microband ring courtesy of the eponymous jeweler to take home. The list includes suites from across the world with the US leading the list (20), followed by China (10). The top cities are Dubai and London, with six each. Elite Traveler claims that its readers spend over $400,000 per household annually at luxury hotels and resorts.

India has had many of its suites in list for earlier years as well. Including them is Coco Shambhala in Goa, Peacock suite at ITC Gardenia in Bangalore, Mumtaz & Noor Jehan suites at ITC Mughal in Agra, Presidential suite at luxury train Maharaja’s Express, Grand Presidential Suite at Taj Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad, Maharaja Suite at Leela Palace in New Delhi, Kohinoor Suite at Oberoi, Gurgaon and Ravi Shanker Suite as well as Taj Mahal Presidential Suite at Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai. Few of other international properties of Taj and Oberoi groups have got their suites listed this year. Included in them are Jaguar suite at Taj 51 Buckingham Gate suites and residences.
