Toronto bound travellers in for a treat

Upendra SwamiDecember 9, 2014 955 Views0

PRI_24014755_H1TXKD0LFor the forthcoming travel season, Toronto is giving MICE groups additional reasons to plan a trip to the city. Strengthening its infrastructure further, the city will introduce its visitors to exciting additions at existing attractions along with new hotels and restaurants to suit everyone’s taste buds!

Lets have a look at some of the additions, which MICE groups will have with plenty of new options to explore and revel in:

U4_Skywalk_04_PMS5835Union Pearson Express (UP Express) will launch in spring 2015 by Metrolinx. On board, guests are offered an array of amenities including WiFi, power outlets for laptops, luggage racks, flight information and infotainment screens. The station’s conveniently located close to Toronto’s many downtown hotels, tourist attractions and business centres.

Ray-Bay-Featured-AnimalsRipley’s Aquarium of Canada. The 12, 500 square-metre (135,000 square-feet) world-class family attraction has more than 5.7 million litres (1.5 million gallons) of water depicting marine and freshwater habitats from around the world and features more than 13,500 exotic sea and freshwater creatures. New this year is the Stingray Experience!  Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada is proud to offer a one of a kind experience for guests to be in Ray Bay with their Cownose and Southern Stingrays.

The Visitor Centre at Historic Fort York just opened on September 18!  It features an entrance hall; an orientation theatre; an exhibit room for objects of symbolic power and historical mysteries from City of Toronto collections; a changing exhibits gallery; and a Battle of York immersive experience.

4_akm026Aga Khan Museum in Toronto is dedicated to presenting an overview of the artistic, intellectual and scientific contributions that Muslim civilizations have made to world heritage. The Museum’s Permanent Collection of over 1,000 objects includes masterpieces that reflect a broad range of artistic styles and materials.

Low_BAN_42899159_RCL_Outside_Night_2The Delta Hotels and Resorts launched Toronto’s newest four-star hotel in the Southcore Financial Centre on November 27, 2014. This Delta Hotel has a 120-seat, street-level restaurant open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks as well as an 80-seat patio with southern exposure. More importantly, it has 567 guest rooms and 12 meeting spaces the largest of which can hold up to 700 people.

Toronto also proves to be a melting pot where food and drink is concerned. Across many ethnically diverse enclaves, food fanatics can explore a variety of authentic flavours at different price points. Wahlburgers, America and the Calvin and Hotel Le Germain, the PLAY Lounge are some of the newly established restaurants MICE travellers can experience.

Tourism Toronto, Toronto’s Convention and Visitors Association, is an industry association of more than 1,100 members established to sell and market the greater Toronto region as a remarkable destination for tourists, convention delegates and business travelers around the globe. Tourism Toronto operates in partnership with the Greater Toronto Hotel Association and the Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport.
