Who likes to be alone! Whether it is a human being or birds, everybody looks for a sweet, cute, like-minded company!! Isn't it.. As is a line of a popular hindi Bollywood song... एक... एक से भले दो. दो... दो से भले तीन (One... two is more better. Two... Three is still better than two), और मैं जोड़ रहा हूं- तीन... तीन से भले चार! (Three... four is far better than three). So here is one little bird, all alone... Looks around for some company... Anybody there? ...or on this side? Here one comes to join the friend! Now they look for the third one... Hello there! Isn't there anybody else? Oh hi! How are you folks! Nice to see you. They are often viewed as the 'thugs' of the bird world and are very clever. They are also smart navigators with their precise movements in the sea. They navigate along the passenger and cargo ships for long distances in search of food and shelter. What an amazing ride in the sea for this seagull! How beautiful this red on the beak looks, isn't it!! A perfect flight. See the difference in the position of wings in the photo above and below! We had a nice journey with seagulls recently in Arabian Sea. While going from Gateway of India to Elephanta Island, Seagulls were accompanying us. And it...

Earlier there used to be hardly a couple. But this season, when they arrived in mid of October, I spotted five of them (See: We are Back). And then suddenly... few days later I was thrilled to see a flock of almost thirty. H...
Read MorePainted storks have been my favourite bird for last few seasons. Big, bright, colourful and adorable. Equally fascinating is there flight. Have always wanted to catch them in their flight. More so when the number is more. Storks fly high, so only time to capture them is when they join the group or are taking off for a new place due to some disturbance. Got some opportunity this time. Was quite fascinating. Isn't it! Have a look!! ...

Watch the full slide show till the end- ...

This is on way back to Rameshwaram from Dhanushkodi in Tamilnadu. A cursory glance towards sea and this was what was to be seen. A huge flock of hundreds of Australian Flamingos, in all their glory. ...
