Seagulls are beautiful. Its so fascinating to see them playing on the waves in the vastness of the sea. A an icy white colour with pinch of red at their beak and claws. They are often viewed as the ‘thugs’ of the bird world and are very clever. They are also smart navigators with their precise movements in the sea. They navigate along the passenger and cargo ships for long distances in search of food and shelter.
What an amazing ride in the sea for this seagull!
How beautiful this red on the beak looks, isn’t it!!
A perfect flight.
See the difference in the position of wings in the photo above and below!
We had a nice journey with seagulls recently in Arabian Sea. While going from Gateway of India to Elephanta Island, Seagulls were accompanying us. And it was indeed a beautiful sight, the way they were navigating the waves, and in the process striking some poses which every photographer will love to capture.
While returning they started following us right from the pier near jetty at the Elephanta island. It was sunset time. Just few minutes into Arabian Sea and all of sudden from nowhere in the middle of sea, a huge flock of seagulls started following our boat, apparently in hope of some food. For all of us in the boat, it was a enjoyable sight of seagulls preying upon anything thrown to them in air in their flight. 8 out of 10 times they were successful in catching food in flight. But they were quicker even if anything accidentally fell in sea. They flew with us for more than half the way in the Arabian Sea for almost 45 minutes. By then it was dark enough for them to go back to their night shelters. May be to get ready to accompany the first boat the next day….
